The Mother Emanuel Memorial Foundation is angered, yet at the same time, extremely saddened to learn another black American has been needlessly killed by law enforcement last Saturday night. Jonathan Price was trying to break up a domestic disturbance at a gas station when he was tasered, shot and killed by the police in Wolfe City, TX. The officer who killed him has been arrested.
Price was clearly loved. His community is remembering him as a “pillar of the community”, as “the nicest guy you could ever meet”. His mom, Marcella Louis said she wasn’t surprised to learn her son “was trying to intervene in a fight” saying “that’s what he did, tried to help others”.
We will continue to keep Mr. Price’s family and friends lifted up in prayer during this difficult time.
