Yesterday, the Charleston Community lost a giant. Retired State Representative and Mother Emanuel Church member Floyd Breeland passed away. He was 87. Mr. Breeland served in the South Carolina House of Representatives, District 111, from 1993 – 2007. Prior to serving in the SC House of Representatives, he was a public school educator for 33 years. Just last year, while being interviewed by Carolyn Murray of WCBD, Mr. Breeland and his lovely wife said Mother Emanuel Church was one of their favorite places in the lowcountry.
