Today, we commemorate the 5th anniversary of Sandra Bland’s death. Ms. Bland was only 28 years old when she died.
Ms. Bland was born in Naperville, Illinois and had four sisters. She graduated with a degree in agriculture from Prairie View A&M and was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho. After college she returned to Illinois for work. Shortly before her death, Bland started to post videos about numerous subjects, including the mistreatment of black people by police officers.
